Mud Room Hutch Made From Pallet Wood

I recently completed a mud room hutch . I made the frame out of 2 x 4's . I did use my Kreg Jig for strong pocket joints .  The frame was then covered in pallet wood (roughly 8 pallets) , 3 coats of poly and a puck light.

Homemade Miter Sled

Looking for the perfect 45 degree cut? Cutting crown molding, trim or making a picture frame doesn't have to be an experiment with several "trial cuts" . Consider building your own miter sled. With a few pieces of scrap wood and about an hour of your time you will be cutting worry free corners!

When making the runners that glide in your table saw make sure they slide easily . Be patient and sand until this is achieved. Keep a carpenter square handy. This is what I use to check (and double check) my 45 degree angle before I glue and screw on my plywood base.

Remember.... It doesn't have to be pretty, it just has to get the cut perfect! Here is an example of the one I made today. Took about an hour and the total cost of the sled was a few pieces of scrap wood, a few squirts of wood glue and a few screws.
